Cycle tourism is a constantly growing phenomenon, especially in the internal areas of the regions. Far from traffic, crowds and above all from places already known and seen, in the internal areas it is possible to discover mysterious and fascinating cycling destinations in which to experience unforgettable cycling adventures or relaxing cycling holidays in places usually visited only by locals, where crowded groups tourists on buses do not arrive.
The cycle tourist is not a tourist on a bicycle but a cyclist on holiday: a serial sharer, hungry for spectacular views and free roads to race on.
CHECKPOINT TURISMOTRAPANICOM
The Sicily Divide crosses all of Sicily through villages, fields, salt pans, abandoned railways and woods. The Divider's Pass accompanies you throughout the journey and will witness your feat when you arrive in Catania. In order for you to prove that you have crossed the whole of Sicily, however, you must have collected at least two stamps for each stage. Stamps are placed at the checkpoints listed below and present on the map. All the checkpoints on the Sicily Divide have been selected to allow you to take a break and in the meantime stamp the Divider's Pass. HERE YOU WILL FIND YOUR FIRST STAMP ON YOUR PASS.
THE Divider's Pass
it is issued free of charge by filling out the request form on the appropriate page. The pass consists of 20 pages containing technical information on the stages of the itinerary, QR codes with information on cycle workshops, rentals, bike hotels and refreshment points along the entire itinerary. The stamps are affixed to the Divider's Pass by authorized checkpoints (bars, restaurants or accommodation facilities). The cyclist who demonstrates having covered the entire route of the Sicily Divide will be included in the Dividers Club as a finisher, while anyone who decides to interrupt the Sicily Divide in one of the intermediate stages will be included among the Semi-finishers. You can always complete the itinerary in the future.

First stop Trapani Gibellina The route from Trapani to Gibellilna by bike is moderately demanding. The first section crosses the spectacular salt pans of Trapani where there is a cycle path in fair condition, then runs along Lake Paceco on secondary roads with very little traffic. The last section is the most challenging with a long climb that culminates in the unforgettable spectacle of Salemi from the top of Monte delle Rose.
